The exciting news is that we have secured land in Ecclesfield, near Sheffield to provide six ground floor self-contained apartments, each having a sitting room, dining area, kitchen, wet room, bedroom, utility room and medication room.
Each apartment will also have its own front and back doors and private, secure garden.
In addition will be a separate “Hub” to provide a Reception area, Games Room, Art and Crafts room, full Training facilities, Offices, and staff facilities.
Our new home will be called Apricus.
Apricus will offer a high-quality and intensive residential setting for adult individuals and will specialise in providing support and care for people who are categorised under the Transforming Care Agenda/adults with complex needs cohort of people.
We will be working with people with Autism, learning disabilities, mental health issues and additional and complex needs. This includes people who have a forensic background.
Apricus will act as both a step-down service for people currently in secure/locked settings or a step-up service for people who are currently in a community placement/setting but are in some form of crisis; to negate the need for admission to a hospital setting.
